Exploring timeless masterpieces by Beethoven, Schubert, Schumann, and Glazunov, the saxophone defies all preconceived notions with its expressive power and astonishing versatility. Invented by Adolphe Sax in 1840, the often-misunderstood instrument was designed to combine the warmth of brass with the virtuosity of wind instruments. Through reimagined masterpieces, enjoy the rich heritage of the saxophone as Bijl and Chapman pay homage to its remarkable qualities.
