'Some Kinda Way' by Connor D'Netto
Some Kinda Way is a collaboration between composer Connor D’Netto, clarinettist Jason Noble, and period multi-instrumentalist Shannon Luk.
The album centres around two works, for clarinets and viola da gamba respectively, each densely layered with multiples of themselves. Around these are a series of connective pieces created collaboratively by the trio in the studio.
Overall the album flows through a seamless connected body of work, fluidly from post-minimal chamber music to electroacoustic ambient, while abstractly reflecting on comings to terms with queerness, self and place.
