Melbourne Bach Choir

Melbourne Bach Choir was formed in 2005 to give an Easter performance of JS Bach’s magnificent St Matthew Passion in 2006. In the years since the choir has performed a wide range of choral music by Bach and other composers. In 2016 to mark the Choir’s 10th anniversary a Chamber Choir and a scholarship programme for young singers were implemented.

The Melbourne Bach Chamber choir performs in a standalone concert once a year as well as taking part in concerts by the main Choir. Both Choirs are directed by Artistic Director Rick Prakhoff, with assistance from Associate Artist Kathryn Pisani on piano. The Choir’s repertoire is wide ranging from Bach to contemporary composers.
