Killian: Bartok, Debussy, Boulez, Cage, Kobayashi, Ingham, Frykberg & Niwa

Sat 27 April @ 20:00 - 22:00

$20 – $25

Pianist Danaë Killian presents a powerful solo recital program structured around Lewis Ingham's Ec(h)o, a five-movement sonic depiction of human influence on the planet both geologically and ideologically.
Written for Killian, this large-scale work responds to environmental degradation, drawing upon climate data, fossil fuel exports, and nuclear detonations, using the piano to explore the traces, or echoes, of human existence in our natural world.

Killian is known for her intense originality and interpretive power in the performance of modern music.
Acutely expressive yet ferociously anti-romantic, this program is subtitled The Echo that Howls into the Sky.
