$60 – $80FOR A BOY WHO'S SIXTY! BIRTHDAY RECITAL
Darryl Coote is delighted that three of his favourite musician friends will help celebrate his birthday on Monday May 1 at Rippon Lea Estate - Anne Gilby (oboe), Sally-Anne Russell (mezzo-soprano) and Rohan de Korte (cello). Commencing with canapés in the Rippon Lea ballroom at 5:45pm, the recital proper begins at 6:30pm and features Poulenc’s vibrant oboe Sonata, Beethoven’s wonderfully lyrical cello Sonata in A major, Elgar’s lush Sea Pictures, Margaret Sutherland’s brilliantly quirky oboe Sonatina, plus Australian composer Noel Fidge's The Farmer's Daughter, arranged specially on this occasion for all four performers.
As his birthday gift to Darryl, long-time friend and supporter Hans Henkell is donating champagne for the pre-concert reception. Each person may receive one glass of this specially gifted champagne at arrival, upon payment of $5 corkage to bar staff.
