The world around us is physical but what informs how we see it, is how we feel. Composer Angie Coffey stands against “numb” and instead embraces the awareness of how extraordinary it is to experience life.

Currently, Angie is composing and producing a suite of songs and instrumental pieces inspired by the fantasy book trilogy- the Rapunzel’s Sister Series. This project has kept her busy for years and is ongoing, most recently with a focus on writing for strings, for which she has an affinity and passion. As part of MCM Chamber Music Series, Angie’s composition ‘Draevon for String Trio’ is to receive its world premiere on May 6 2025 with ‘Transfigured String Trio’ in the concert ‘Draevon – Between Light and Darkness’ with Zoe Black, Caroline Henbest and Molly Kadaurach at Hanson Dyer Hall.

Angie’s work continues to garner commissions, including a forthcoming piece for concert pianist Catherine Broadstock to receive its premiere in 2026 as part of her Poetry and Music series, inspired by the poem ‘The Mirror’ by Rosemary Dobson.
